Good Judicial Practice in Sweden
It is vitally important from many perspectives that the general public have a high level of confidence in the judges and the courts and that the judges and the courts maintain a high level of credibility. The individual judge's attitude to various ethical issues is a key factor from a confidence point of view. In Sweden, a special working group within the Swedish Association of Judges produced a guide which is now used in training of judges and also contributes to personal reflection, ensuring that discussions between judges regarding good judicial practice are kept alive.
